Gregory & Melinda's January 2011

Well 2011 started out better than 2010 as we did not—repeat did NOT—get our house broken into on New Years Day. We actually had a fun new years eve party with some friends in our ward, which new year we celebrated with the kids at 10pm on the nose. We then stopped by the Young Single Adult dance (I’m the HC assigned to the YSAs), and then we went home and slept (with the alarm on—no breakins!)

One thing that is new this month is Amelia & Nicolas are doing Ice skating lessons. I have been amazed at how quickly they learn, and how quickly they get up every time they fall. It has been a lot of fun to see them improve. I try to leave quickly before the hockey teams get on the ice after us, because Nicolas is fascinated with them and I’m not paying for his playing hockey- it’s too expensive!

Charlie is a joy—he contently goes with whoever holds him or he’ll sit in his swing and smile at everyone who walks by hoping they’ll pick him up. That usually ends up being Nicolas or Amelia, who can’t walk past him without giving him a slobbery kiss. They love him. After which we have to save him from being dropped by them, in which case he is still happy.

Overall, life is good! 
