What a great month! It started off the first week with David having 10 seconds of "fame"!!! He attended the Mitt Romney gathering with Reid. There were 2000 there and the camera ZOOMS in on David's face out of everyone there, he was the only one Channel 3 showed close up. Which Reid was standing on the side the cameras were on so he thought he'd have been safe!
Also that first week I was called and set apart as a temple worker. I LOVE it. It is such a boost and positive way to spend a day. And I have great sisters on my shift.
Valentine’s Day was nice; David quit early and took me to dinner @ Ruby Tuesdays. We missed all the crowd, then came home and watched a movie. (Oh speaking of movies, if you haven't seen Courageous, it is worth watching. Reid's ward Bishop told their ward council he wanted all of them to watch it. It really brings home what is important. Your kids need to see it while they still have children at home!!)
Julie and Mckae "zipped" in for a few hours but it was so fun to see them and to see how much Mandy had grown! They came late one night left the next morning for Hurricane, then came back for an hour to get ready for her friend's sealing, then came and ate and left ....whoosh!
The next week David shouted HOORAY! After 8 months, we finally got his workbench built in his shop....which meant we got the shop cleaned enough (with the help of Justin) to have space to build it.... he LOVES IT. He even gave up 2 nights of Hannity this week to be out in his "man cave" as he calls it, just tinkering. Its 16 ft long, has great lighting, and a radio. What more could you want.
Then this past week, I finally got my flowers! We have 3 planter boxes out front....they had "water" issues so I couldn't use them. So this past week, I dug them up, found the problem and David fixed them for me. Except there was one huge tree out front that the roots were so entangled in the line David had to cut the roots out and try and dig the lineup. He said it was a "beast"! But he got it done. I now have tulips, pansies, hyacinths, daisy's, zucchini, tomatoes, jasmine, bougainvillea, and a lilac bush out front....and in the back I have 3 apple trees, a pear tree, a Bing cherry, and a peach!!! So if we live here long enough we might get a few "fresh fruit".
David loves his calling with the young men. He serves with a great guy (who loves scouting) and they work well together. They just went to the UNLV basketball game Saturday against Air Force and center court BOX seats. They had chicken wings, veggies, dip, and whatever else and a bathroom right in the box. He enjoys teaching the Sunday lesson. They have 4 great boys that come all the time and then 2 that sometimes come.
He was at a house this week that was within inches of burning down. The box that holds the plug had literally shriveled down from melting. The electrician that had wired it didn't make a tight connection....what a scary deal. But thankfully it didn't.
He is "enthralled" in the campaign news and loves seeing what happens.... hopefully come November we'll have a new President! Or we will really be in trouble.
The Lord has blessed us and continues to bless us and we are so thankful.
