The 4th of July was GREAT.... Mom and I went to Texas to see Jo's new house and then we all drove up to Brian's for Tatem's blessing. Well actually I rode the bus, what a nightmare and they drove.
We went and watched fireworks on the 3rd. They were pretty awesome. It was fun they had a live band and the kids were dancing away, and Brian too. I have such cute little grandkids....all TWELVE of them. I just hate having 8 of them in Texas though. David stayed home and hung out with Schulthies', and went to the ward 4th of July Breakfast.
The next week was also great! Laura went to girls camp and I got to tend the girls.... that's always fun. Hanna and I sewed. We had gone to the store and she picked out some material to make her a dress, she did a great job on it. So good in fact we cut out 3 more; a matching one for her and her 2 sisters! They looked so cute! She also made (and designed) some bags for her and her sister. The best part was Brielle finally "clicked" and was potty trained just like that all on her own! Sadie had started out doing better, but then quit. Hanna thinks that’s so funny.
Then it was a week of looking for a house... With Mom living with us now we need to find one with a shower downstairs and room. Right now she is sleeping in the front room, and I shower her either outside with the hose (poor lady, but it's easier on her) or I take her over to her house to shower. We are still looking. Thankfully though it is a buyers market and interest rates are great. We are looking in the area over closer to David’s work which just happens to be closer to Reid and Laura! =*) a bonus.
The Stake had a fun 24th of July celebration. They had a luau so we put on our matching Hawaiian outfits and headed to the park. It was fun they had snow cones, cotton candy, watermelon, ice cream cones for the everyone and all kinds of entertainment for the first hour, then they served dinner and dessert and finished off the night with the Stake Pres. and high councilmen doing a Hawaiian dance with their Hawaiian material wrapped around their waists, they did the "little balls" you swing. It was HEEELARIOUS. Especially those men that are very serious personality... but they were all good sports and did it.
Then it was work and more hunting for a house... we have turned a couple offers in with no word yet. Julie came down the end of the month to help me pack up and clean out Mom's house, Fiola and Braden came over and helped us too. It's never any fun sorting through stuff. My sister is wanting everything, and not to get rid of anything so basically we just went in and boxed it all up. I was sure glad I had the help. Still not quite done but we made a big dent in it.
We ended the month at the Schulthies for a birthday party for Hanna... she is EIGHT this year, where does the time go. We swam and had a BBQ David did a great job of cooking the meat. Hanna had been to Mom's house and wrote a list of what she wanted...it was cute. So Mom gave her that for her birthday.
David is counting down the days to Monday night football. Not many now, I think his first game is next week! OR maybe this week, not sure. He changed the ringtone on his cell phone to Monday night football theme and let me tell you he LOVES to get those calls. Work has been pretty good. The Lord has blessed us immensely in that, and we are so thankful. So many have closed the doors and lost jobs. Our Stake has really been hit with the economy. We are grateful for the work we've had.
We love you all and are thankful for our forefathers for all they did
to make it possible for us to live free and be able to worship especially to have the gospel in our lives.
