Greg & Melinda's April 2010

Well here it is 3 days into the month, and it's already the wettest month in Nashville's history (14 inches in the first 2 days). What does that tell you...?
Our church was canceled, so we all spent times at people's homes bailing out water, digging ditches, and so on. The sun is out today which is good, and we are blessed that most of our water has receded away, but some in Nashville are under water and have no power. Most everyone is doing okay now though. It's a good experience because it gives you a better idea of how to prepare for and help others in times of emergency. Food, water, tools, and friends are all very valuable to have!

Natural disasters aside, we are doing well. Nicolas has his 3 year bday party this saturday, and he is very excited about that. We went to the party store to pick the theme, and he insists on a dinosaur / batman/ space shuttle birthday party. So the three of those will be mixed in a way only a 3 year old can love.

Melinda has finished her first class at Tennessee State University. She starts her second one in the summer. Amelia is excited for kindergarten which starts in the fall--we already went to registration day with her, and she's about half the height of the other students. She's twice as cute and smart though, so that makes up for it :)!

I (Greg) am still working at Nissan, still flying down to Mexico every month trying to get our Mexican suppliers to send us better quality parts. Good / Lucky for us, we haven't had any problems with accelerator pedals! :-| I'm also still playing on the Masters (read:old men) Ultimate Frisbee team which I love. I ran the half-marathon last week, and recovered just in time to haul buckets of water when the floods came a week later. It'll take me another week to recover.

Overall, things are wonderful. Everyone come visit us in Nashville (the sun's out now). We've got the CMA music fest in June, and come with us in September to drive down to Florida to see BYU play Florida State!
