Vivian & David

The 1st of November David was sustained and set apart as the new ward clerk.
His sister, Della, flew in and stayed with us for almost a week. She was very helpful in helping us get the candy canes and treats packaged to mail to all of the missionaries serving in the South Africa Durban Mission, and four packages to our missionaries serving from the Madadeni and Newcastle Branches.
She helped David plant some pansies and joined us in our Book of Mormon FHE class when David taught.
For fun we went up to the No. Georgia mountains and hiked up to the Amicolia Falls; went to a fun German town of Helen and ate lunch. We also did a quick stop at the Cabbage patch hospital on the way home [Note: see the fun things you could do with us when you come visit!].
She’d heard so much about The Varsity that we had to go there to eat; which we did one day after she walked the golf course with David.
The following week we got to have some good friends, the Eddington’s, from Texas [formerly from Atlanta] come and stay with us a couple of days. A group of Georgia Gals got to do lunch together.

We went with the ward to the Columbia, So. Carolina Temple; which took the day..

Gregory had invited us to join him and his family in Cape Canaveral to watch the space shuttle launch. It was so amazing! First of all that we got to see it, second of all the only delay was for ten seconds. It is quite unexplainable to describe what you are watching and seeing as it launched through the beautiful blue sky and fluffy white clouds. The next day we all had a fun time at Sea World before we began our drives home.

I finally found a table I needed for my sewing machine – long story, but I have one now.
While home the rest of the month, I got to make preparations for Christmas gifts. Some were a real stretch of talent and ability for me, but I’ll have to wait until next month to tell you about these. But Greg and family got to take them back to Tennessee with them.

We got to have Gregory, Mindy, Amelia and Nicolas here for Thanksgiving; this is always so fun. We got to enjoy one of my favorite holidays together. Then they drove home – for a day before they began their 30 hour drive to Mexico where they will live for a month.

To finish out the month, we switched Fall decorations out for the beginning of some Christmas ones [that we could find]. We were involved in some missionary service and we also called and talked with Pres. Mann. We have been home from our mission in South Africa Durban for a year now.
