Started out with a nice visit from Angie and Brian. We always enjoy visits.

Then on Monday Fiola and I made 10 batches of jam with some yummy strawberries we'd ordered. Then I did 15 more batches after having FHE with the Schulthies. It's always fun to be with the grandkids, even if we do have to give the lesson! =*)

I played catch up at work. This time of year is crazy..... And to top it all off there was a house that came up for us when I got home from Texas. We had given up looking for us a house and was looking at getting a rental. However this house looked like us.... old and plain! But it had a nice big shop. So I called our agent and said we'd like to go on Monday (this was Saturday night). She emailed me that there were multiple offers on the table, even though the listing had just come out Friday night. We went and looked at it and really liked it. 1/2 acre, 4 bedroom single story. That night they looked at offers and we got a counter the next morning.....it was just minor changes on the counter so we signed it..... The seller wanted a fast close and one of the conditions was using their lenders because they could make it happen....so we collected info and waited... it went through and the appraisal came back for more than we offered.

So now the work starts in! Thankfully Julie and Fiola came over the 13th and 14th and helped sort and pack...and take junk to DI for me. The new home needs a few appliances, so we have been trying to acquire them, get boxes and sort stuff. In looking for boxes though Julie and I ran into a "community" yard sale. That killed 2.5 hours for us, but we had a great time. After we went to see Brielle for her birthday. Such a cute little 4 year old!

Monday the 16th brought some pretty exciting news. Angie called and said to meet her at the temple at 2 on Friday that she and Brian were getting married. I was so excited to hear that. Friday was a beautiful day....the sealing was nice. Angie looked beautiful (and said YES). Then we went to Laura's for a little wedding brunch. Fiola made the decorations, they were very nice. She is so talented and willing to share it. It was a potatoe bar with all the trimmings. His family and ours was there, except for the Texas kids, we missed them. But what a wonderful day.

I had my last ward conference for the year. It’s always fun to go visit the children for conference and then to see them on Sunday. I told my counselors after meeting that we were probably moving...they were surprised. I've only had these new counselors about 3 months and they are awesome.

We got the news on the house the night of the 26th that yes we would be moving! Our new address will be 4310 Tioga Way, Las Vegas, NV 89129. It will be nice, only 3 miles from David's main work, 3.2 miles from Laura, 3.5 miles from home depot...course my work will be a little farther away but we'll adjust.

David has had a busy month, working. Seminary is also busy this time of year, however Julie and I did a fast get away road trip...we were going to go camping with Justin and Fiola and Laura was invited...but it ended up none of them could go. So we decided to go put flowers on my Mom and Dad's graves. It was a fun break but fast, basically up and back.

To finish off May....Julie and Mckae took me to dinner for my birthday. It was great. I came home the next day after going to church with them. Then on Monday we had a BBQ at Laura's for Memorial Day, as always it’s great to get together.

We also had our new kitchen measured for cabinets. The ones in it right now have been spray painted.

Then it was my "birthday” great day. Got phone calls and texts from the kids and grandkids. Plus Fiola and Braden came and took me to lunch at one of my favorite spots. After work I went and looked at a swing set for the new house (still waiting for a closing date). Laura and girls came over with cards and songs, and then Reid came and went and got a birthday cake, so we had cake and ice cream. Hanna and Laura packed my toy closet what a great present! All in all a perfect day!

And all in all May has been a GREAT month!
