Dale & Sharon

The first day of the month we had a branding at Arock, the weather had held us off a week and so some of the crew couldn't make it so we were a little shorthanded but we did get it done and Dale got to rope. The whole month was colder and wetter than normal and keeps the crew from working in the fields.
The second weekend was Cari's Graduation from BYU-I and we able to spend a day visiting with some of her professors and seeing some of the new building on campus. The new conference center is a lot like the Conference Center in SLC but only seats 15,000, and had 3 levels of amazing art work in there for everyone to enjoy. The spirit of that place is almost tangible and brought back a lot of fond memories. We had a good time. The next morning was commencement and we had Pres. Clark and Steven E. Snow of the Seventy speak to us, and then she walked and got her diploma. Then it was a mad dash back to Nampa because the kids had got us tickets to the Pbr bulling riding for Christmas. We made it in just in time. Most of the month was spent getting the cows with their calves shipped off to the mountain, it is a process that is time consuming and requires a certain amount of patience and we were held off several days with that as well. Sure glad Cari was here to help and she enjoys it and so do I. The boys have been doing a lot more custom work for the neighbors with ground work and trucking lately. Seems like we were always busy even when we were only doing our work????????
Last Friday I had appointment to put a crown back on that had came off and was to pick up a beef from the butcher and get back to Arock for the schools cowboy poetry. When I got to Jordan Valley the road was closed due to a truck spun out on the hill and traffic couldn't get around and some cars had slide together. I had to wait two hours for the road to get cleared up. I was still able to get to the dentist (He waited for me to get there) and parts and beef and back to Arock and to put the meat away after the program.
The day before I had taken the older Arock kids to the Owyhee Dam field day. It was cold and rainy that day too. That evening was Crane High Schools academic awards and the booster club served a prime rib dinner to two hundred people. They said they would let me help next year if I wanted. Cody got an award for his grades and woodshop. It was a very nice evening too. We also had stake conference and we got a session in at the temple. So far so good on the branches once a month goal. July looks bad from here but we are not behind yet, will have to double up a month somewhere, but right now we are current. The beginning of the month was one of the best weekends of the year with general conference. We just love to stay home and watch it on TV and to listen to it. About as good as it gets.
