Lila & Mark

December was full of activities and doings.

We were in charge of our Empty Nester's FHE group activity for December, but one by one everyone called and cancelled due to illness. Mark and I carried on with the planned activity of visiting an older sister in our ward and playing Christmas songs for her on the accordion. She enjoyed the attention and requesting songs to her liking.

I was able to go to the "The Forgotten Carols" at UVU with Janna. Attended the Ward Christmas Party, Mark's work Christmas party, helped Marla make candy and bread for her work, etc., etc.

Mark's two sisters were in town, as well as their children and grandchildren, for the holidays. On the 26th we had them over for dinner which Marissa prepared and carried out as I was in SL in the morning. All together we had 17 adults and 5 children under the age of 4, but who's counting. We hadn't met a couple of the spouses or a couple of the grandchildren before, so it was fun to meet them.

In between snow storms we got Marla and Marissa settled into a Condo that Marla bought in SL. It is closer to Marla's work. Marla won't know what to do with all the extra time she'll have now that she doesn't have to commute on the bus nor get delayed due to the ongoing freeway road construction.

We were saddened to wake up to the news on December 17 that the Provo Tabernacle was on fire. Nothing is left of the inside, only the brick walls remain. It looks as though it has been bombed. At this point they don't know what caused the fire.

On New Year's Eve we attended the movie "True Grit". It's a good movie if you're looking for something to see. Then we headed to a pizza place where Mark's nephew works.

Onward to 2011.
