The month of December seems like a blur to me. I feel like it came and went so fast.
I am sure our December was just like all of yours. We had a ward breakfast, made baskets for the widows, took stocking stuffers for the missionaries and service men.
Some friends hosted an ornament party, we had a YW's party, and I did the YW's Christmas lesson. Dean was super busy with tithing settlement as well as a lot of year end bidding here at Sunshine Landscape.
We had a lot of fun watching grandkids so parents could shop and do last minute things. Matt and Pyper invited us to their home for their annual formal Christmas Eve Dinner. As always, that was a lot of fun.
We slept in on Christmas morning, had butter pastries and wassail, and then opened our gifts. We invited Levi and Jessica to come share in a prime rib dinner with us, and that was fun too.
Because of all the treks our family had this last summer we cancelled our family reunion. So we planned a birthday party for Emily on December 29th and everyone was able to come to Matt and Pyper's to enjoy that. We had so much fun eating and playing.
Speaking of reunions. I heard back from a couple of you about changing the reunion to the fourth weekend in June, to the 24th and 25th. Teresa Bowns emailed me and said that would be fine with them, as no one in their family would commit so far in advance to being able to attend.
I will be finalizing more details later, but an overview would be, I am going to reserve Levi's club house for Friday the 24th so we can have a catered Dutch oven dinner, and then Lila is going to make a presentation on the history of the Bowns side of the family. We have invited the seven Bowns cousins to join all of us Friday night. Hopefully they can come.
On Saturday we can gather for breakfast, visit and have lunch. I am hoping to get a hold of Terry and Joanne (Durfee) Hale to see if they will give us a tour of their warehouse of antique cars. I hear that is a lot of fun. Then we can head over to Weiser for the last night of the Fiddler Contest. I can get a block of seats together, so I will find out the deadline for ordering tickets and by then I will need a head count.
I am trying to keep the reunion low keyed and easy to administer, as I will just be getting back from girls camp on that Friday the 24th. I will keep everyone posted as I get more details in place. But save the date of Friday June 24th and Saturday the 25th, as we need everyone there.
