Gregory & Melinda's June

We started off the month with Melinda in California for her niece’s graduation.  I (Greg) had a blast with the kids for 2.5 days.  Luckily, Melinda returned shortly before our supplies of DVDs and cold cereal, and crackers were nearly depleted.

The next week I was off to Mexico working with Nissan’s hinge supplier.  I learned a lot--who knew making hinges was so complex?

Amelia finished up school and we are all happy to have her home for the summer.  She and Nicolas have quickly gotten back into a routine where they play with each other all day long.  Now with Charlie crawling, they involve him in their play as well-sometimes we have to save him from them of course, and vice versa.

My Dad came up to join me in the BYU alumni golf tournament in Nashville.  Thanks to many of his shots and my one contribution of a long putt our foursome got 2nd place in the scramble.

The weekend of 6/23 was busy with EFYSA: Nashville’s first annual EFY-type summer conference for YSAs.  We invited all of the southeast and had 250 there, with speakers like Elder Gay & Curtis Jacobs.  As the high councilor assigned to the YSAs in our stake, I spent most of the 3 days running around checking lights, sound, and fans—3 things I know very little about.  But the whole thing went very well; the goal of course to bless the lives of the YSAs and help them strengthen each others’ testimonies.  It was fun to be a part of it (now we can rest for a season).

Now is Nissan’s summer shutdown, so Melinda & I have driven out to the West: Utah and Idaho.  We’ll be stopping at Nauvoo on our way home this week, and then back home to rest from our near 2 week road trip.

Overall, life is good!
