Greg & Melinda's July

July was a wonderful month: We got to celebrate Independence day, 2 sisters’ b-days, my Dad’s b-day, and the surgery of his sinuses, which seems to have gone well. In his honor Melinda & I played in the Dibb family golf tournament. We’re pretty excited because we got the highest score of anyone, and it was the first time Melinda had even played. Not to be complacent, when we got back home we checked out a video from the library “Golf for beginners,” and we’re studying it so we can be ready for the next tournament.

Also this month, I had to travel to Cincinnati to visit a dealer, but the whole family came along for fun (to Cinci, not to the dealer). After work was done, we went to King’s Island, a fun amusement park that I’d gone to 20 years ago to the month for my 8th grade graduation. I’m improving in my old age, because I wasn’t as afraid to go on the big kids rides as I was in the 8th grade. In fact I went on the Giggle Coaster all by myself. (trust me, it’s a lot more ferocious than it sounds—you have to be at least 36” tall!!!) What we really loved about Kings Island was all the rides Amelia (36” tall) could ride. There were 15 or so rides that she could do by herself, which was much more than her last trip to Disneyworld. So she really loved it. We stayed there a few hours until both kids had broken down into tantrums, then we strapped them into their carseats and drove the 4 hours back home to Nashville. A great day trip.

Amelia & Nicolas are doing well—Amelia is potty trained, which is very exciting for all of us. And Nicolas is learning to sing—he can’t actually pronounce words, but he loves to sing in church and right before going to sleep. We’ve been told he looks like Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes, which has given us a good idea for Halloween.

Overall, life is good; we love you all!
