We ended September with a b-day party for Charlie, which again this year was a soccer party. We played a bunch of soccer games and had a lot of fun. I’m Charlie’s soccer coach; every day he asks how many more minutes until his next soccer game. Charlie is super detailed about numbers and units of measurement. He has been as long as we’ve known him. He used to make up random numbers and ask—“Dad, is our house 5,352 miles away? That’ll take FOREVER!” “Dad, can this car go 892 miles per hour? Wow, that’s fast!” But now he’s actually gotten pretty accurate at his numbers guessing. He’s learned to identify models of airplanes out of the sky thanks to the planefinder app. “Look dad, an A340!”
In the first part of the month we were able to go to General Conference in Utah. Amelia and Nicolas—both baptized members now—were able to go into the conference center with us for the Saturday afternoon session which featured the sustaining of 3 new members of the quorum of the 12. Apparently that was a big draw as the lines were so long we were seated just after the announcement. It was a memorable experience though.
For work I went to Paris France, which is where Nissan’s alliance partner Renault is located. I had good meetings and was able to sneak in a double decker bus tour of the city as well.
Melinda is doing well and has managed to train Berrett to sleep almost halfway through the night. Berrett likes to eat, hence his 99%ile height, 80th weight.
Overall, a wonderful blessed month, and looking forward to November.
