Hi family,
Well the continuation of the "move-in" goes on. Hopefully in next month’s news I can say we are moved in. We collected our things from two of our friend’s places where we had extras stored. It has been an interesting move and sometimes I wonder why it is taking me so long; then I came up with some good reasons; er. excuses: The things have been stored in boxes for over two years. I had forgotten what furniture and other items we had [and/or sold or had given away]. Btw, this can be dangerous when you are buying and home and don't know what you have. Generally you change homes within a week and remember your daily living patterns.
Oh well, beyond the frustration of not feeling settle in, we are having fun with lots of friends. Our Peachtree Corner Ward FHE group invites us to come back on a monthly basis, then a smaller around the kitchen table group does a FHE studying the Book of Mormon, and the Enrichment class studying the Pearl of Great Price invites me to join them. Then I had a birthday luncheon with several. John & Becky Douglas came and picked us up or a BBQ dinner and a stage show in Dahlonega, and other fun things like that.
In our new ward, we know several of the members from our former stake; some even live in the same subdivision. Jack and MaryAnn Woods had us over for dinner and the guys watched the re-play of the Super Bowl. They also introduced me to the Institute Book of Mormon class. My new Visiting Teaching companion and I went out together. And we have met our new wonderful and spiritual bishop.
Gregory and Melinda were here over Valentine's Day. We got to have Amelia and Nicolas help us make Valentine Sugar cookies while their parents went and did their own Valentine Day celebration.
David's cousin, Ron and his wife, Jeannine, came and stayed with us from vacationing in Florida on their way to New York. While here Ron helped us set up our computers and solved the problem of getting my emails to go out, he also helped get our stereo and CD player unpacked and set up. So they really earned their keep.
David and I spent a few hours in Lowes and Home Depot evaluating and stocking up on needed materials to use our welcome home discount coupon. David has used his new saws to help build several sets of shelves and do other projects.
We got tags and new license plates for the cars and we are trying to get pick back up on some temple service. One day we both sat down and wrote several letters to our Madadeni friends. It would be a dream to ever hear back from them, but they will know that we are thinking and caring about them. We learned that one our future missionaries, Comfort, gets to baptize and confirm his mother before he enters the MTC this month. This is exciting news.
